About Golf Card Game
Last updated:
This page tells you who built playgolfcardgame.com and why it is here.
Who built this site?
Josiah built this site.
Josiah wanted one free place to play Golf the card game online.
The rules on the site should match the game you play.
Why is this site here?
Golf is a draw-and-discard card game. You keep a grid of cards and swap to get a low score over many holes.
This site runs in your browser. You can play against a computer partner and open guides when you need help.
The goal is to keep play simple and the rules clear.
Is the game free?
Yes. You can play without paying and without making an account.
The site may show Google ads to help pay for hosting.
You can start a game as soon as the page loads.
How do the computer players work?
You play against one computer partner.
Before each game, you pick Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert as your playing partner.
Here is how each level plays in our game.
Beginner
Beginner does not count cards.
It flips start cards at random.
It always takes a king, ace, or two from the discard pile when that card is on top.
Intermediate
Intermediate does not count cards.
It takes a king, ace, or two from the discard pile when that card is on top.
It also takes a discard that would make a pair in its grid.
If the top discard is not helpful, it draws from the deck.
Expert
Expert is the only level that counts cards still in the deck.
It uses those counts when it picks the deck or the discard pile.
When Expert is ahead, it lowers its swap bar and swaps more often.
When Expert is behind, it raises the bar and waits for stronger swaps.
Where do the rules come from?
Standard rules on this site follow Pagat six-card Golf.
Other layouts and options are labeled as common variants or house rules on their pages.
Use the rule pages below when you want the full text.
What data does the site save?
Most game data stays in your browser on this device.
That includes your cards, settings, wins and losses, daily challenge scores, and score sheet entries.
Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and game events. Those events do not include your name or email.
If you join the optional email list, MailerLite stores your email address.
See the privacy policy for storage keys and the full event list.
